A Kleene Theorem for Timed Automata

چکیده
In this paper we define timed regular expressions, an extension of regular expressions for specifying sets of densetime discrete-valued signals. We show that this formalism is equivalent in expressive power to the timed automata of Alur and Dill by providing a translation procedure from expressions to automata and vice versa. The result is extended to -regular expressions (Büchi’s theorem).

A Kleene-Schützenberger Theorem for Weighted Timed Automata
During the last years, weighted timed automata (WTA) have received much interest in the real-time community. Weighted timed automata form an extension of timed automata and allow us to assign weights (costs) to both locations and edges. This model, introduced by Alur et al. (2001) and Behrmann et al. (2001), permits the treatment of continuous consumption of resources and has led to much resear...
متن کاملA Kleene-Schützenberger Theorem for Weighted Event-Clock Automata
We present a Kleene-Schützenberger-Theorem for weighted event-clock automata, i.e., we show that the class of recognizable timed series coincides with the class of rational timed series. The result generalizes Kleene’s famous theorem and its extensions to the classes of weighted automata and event-clock automata. For proving the theorem, we use the method of a recent work on the class of weight...
متن کاملEquations on Timed Languages
We continue investigation of languages, accepted by timed automata of Alur and Dill. In [ACM97] timed regular expressions equivalent to timed automata were introduced. Here we introduce quasilinear equations over timed languages with regular coefficients. We prove that the minimal solution of such an equation is regular and give an algorithm to calculate this solution. This result is used to ob...
متن کاملA Kleene Theorem for Piecewise Constant Signals Automata
In this paper, we consider timed automata for piecewise constant signals. In the model presented here, time elapses only during transitions; any constraint on clocks should be satisfied during all the duration of the transition. Signal automata are very different from un-timed and time-event automata because piecewise constant signals may be split (and spliced) in an infinite number of ways. We...
متن کاملA Kleene theorem for splitable signals
In this paper, we consider timed automata for piecewise constant signals and prove that they recognize exactly the languages denoted by signal regular expressions with intersection and renaming. The main differences from the usual timed automata are: time elapses on transitions (passing through a state is instantaneous), signals may be split on a run on an automaton and constraints on transitio...
